First day of school.

Well, it's that time of year again. This time I have 2 kids in school all day long. What!?! It is almost boring and lonely all day now. Realize that I said almost. The girls were super excited to go and wear their rock star outfits and take their cool new messenger bags instead of backpacks. I was excited to see them excited. I hope that excitement continues all year long.

Rebecca is 3!

On August 2nd, Rebecca turned 3 years old. It is hard to believe that she is 3 already. Where does the time go? More than anything, Rebecca wanted to go to Pirate Island Pizza to celebrate. So off we went with some special family guests in tow. The pizza was yummy and they sang to Rebecca and presented her with ice cream. Then we played games and won prizes, which, mysteriously, Rebecca did the best at and won the most prizes.

After the frivolity ended, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Wood's house for cake, ice cream and presents. This year, Rebecca wanted everything to be strawberry. The cake and the ice cream were all strawberry. Or so we thought. When we opened the ice cream which said strawberry on the container but chocolate chip on the lid, we discovered it really was chocolate chip. She didn't mind really so it was just a funny thing to remember about that day. She got everything she wanted. Mostly barbies of course, and she was thrilled.

I love you Rebecca. You are my little tiny grown up doll. Your doctor said you are the size of an average 21 month old. You are in the less than 1% for height and weight. I think you are perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. Here's to another year baby girl!

Our big Trip!

So the kids and I and my mom went to Canada for 3 weeks. It was a long trip (16 hour drive each way) and a long time away from Mike, which is hard for me, but we had a really good time. I stayed with my cousin Rachel, and she and I are really good friends, so it was fun. We went specifically for my grandmother's 88th birthday. It was great to see her and have my children spend time with her. Who knows if we'll get that chance again.

While we were there we took the kids to petting farm. They had fun seeing the animals and holding cats and bunnies. That is not something we get to do very often and I love seeing my children enjoying new things.

Rachel has a beautiful golden retriever dog which quickly became Garrett's best friend. That dog would let him crawl on her and kiss her and polk her in the eye. He was sad to to leave Daisy for sure.

It was a great trip. I got to see extended family members that I hardly ever get to see so it made all the driving worth it. And the kids were great. There was really hardly any complaining at all. Just kepp them full and entertained and there were no problems.

The concert!

Lately my favorite band is Lady Antebellum. So I was so excited when I heard they were coming to St. George for $20 a ticket and kids were free! So I convinced my mom to go and we had a blast. Emma knows every word and Abby definitely knows how to dress the part. We had so much fun and the music was great!

Catchup and a big birthday!

Sorry about the long wait for another entry. The last couple of months have been crazy. The end of June was big because Mike was offered a really great job in southern California, which we accepted. There was a whirlwind of activity as we got ready for this and travelled there to look for a house to rent starting in August. That did not happen though. The kids and I are now living alone in Utah for the rest of 2009. Circumstances beyond our control have forced our hand in this, so I am a married, single mother of 4 until the new year when we will join Mike in California. Mike does make the extraordinary effort to be home on the weekends, so that is what we we look forward to all week long.

This is our trip to look for places to live.

It doesn't look like a very productive trip, but we sure had fun!

The fourth of July was so much fun. Every year we spend it downtown St. George to the park where there is all kinds of booths set up and stuff to do. Then we go to my parents house for swimming and bbq and a small birthday celebration for my sister, dad and I who all share the 5th with Garrett now. Then we head back to the park for a country concert and fireworks. It is a blast and I love being with family.

Garrett turned 1 on July 5th! It was a great day with lots of fun, presents and of course cake. For each of my children's first birthdays, I always do some kind of spectacular cake. Atleast I think they are pretty special. Being that this was my first boy cake, I was really excited. I planned 2 months in advance and it turned out really wonderful. I was so proud of myself, and it must have tasted okay, because Garrett ate the whole thing by himself. Well, except for what ended up on the floor.

I love you Garrett! You are my best buddy and playmate. How can you be one already? I couldn't share my birthday with anyone better!
