Christmas time!

I love this time of year! We decorated the tree to the holiday tunes of Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. That is a Christmas tradition that dates back from my childhood, so laugh all you want, but it will continue. That moment is when Christmas starts for me. The kids made our kind of pathetic fake tree, beautiful as usual and I always tear up a little.

Being back in Southern California is different at Christmas. It doesn't look Christmasy or even feel Christmasy until I go to DisneyLand. Christmas is in full swing there and I feel like a kid again. The Christmas parade is the absolute best thing for bringing on the joy!

Our ward Christmas party was fun with a great pageant put on by the primary. Emma and Becca were rehearsing for a dance recital so Abby was my lone angel, but she shone bright enough for all.

Of course the season wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Dickens Festival in St. George Utah to visit the REAL Santa Claus. This year was especially wonderful because none of my kids were crying in the picture. That is a for real first for our family. YAY!!!

I hope you all are enjoying this time of year as much as I am. It comes and goes so quickly that I can't believe that as a child it seemed to take forever! Remember the reason for the season. Teach the children about the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ and invite Him in to partake of the joy with your families.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
